Much like Storm Claudia hit the northern region the previous evening, Manchester City swept the visitors away at the Etihad. It was a statement three goal victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they reinforced their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for Manchester United

This result represented consecutive WSL defeats for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations severely dented.

The home side, on the other hand, could have increased their advantage when a delightful Vivianne Miedema long ball sent Bunny Shaw away only for her to miss the chance but it was insignificant to the hosts.
