Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage

Residents observed substantial frozen pellets as large as seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across different parts of both areas.
